AceMoney Receipts

Receipts Pro and the Mileage plan

Last updated

AceMoney Receipts is free to use, with ads. Two paid plans exist: Receipts Pro, a subscription billed monthly or yearly, and the Mileage plan, a yearly purchase. Prices differ by store and country, so this page names none; see pricing.

AceMoney Cloud, a subscription sold on our website, includes the Receipts Pro and Mileage plan features. If you have it, sign in to AceMoney Receipts with the same account; you do not need to buy either plan. See AceMoney Cloud.

What is free

  • Scanning with the camera and importing photos, multi-page receipts, the blur and glare warning.
  • Reading of the merchant, date and total on the phone itself.
  • Editing, search and sort, and geotagging with a map.
  • The budget gauges and the Charts tab.
  • Pairing with AceMoney Classic on your PC.
  • Bill splitting inside the app, and the mileage logbook (trips you add by hand or start with Start trip, vehicles, the odometer camera, and automatic drive detection for up to 20 automatically detected trips a month).
  • AceMoney Filing Cabinet with up to 5 documents.
  • The biometric lock, and the web version on a desktop browser.

On the free plan, banner ads appear on the Home and Charts tabs, on the Detailed Budget Overview, on a receipt and in Settings, and a full-screen ad shows after you save or cancel a new receipt. The web version shows no ads.

What Receipts Pro adds

  • Automatic cloud reading: every new receipt is read by the reading service, which is more accurate than reading on the phone and can pick out the purchased items. It is fair-use limited to 250 scans a month; the counter is under More > Settings > Capture & OCR > Automatic cloud reading (“Used 12 of 250 scans this month”). Past the limit, or when the service finds nothing, the phone reads the receipt as on the free plan.
  • Extract Item List (“List purchased items in the comment”), on by default.
  • Voice Interaction (“Read back OCR results aloud”): the app reads what it found and you confirm or correct it by voice. See Voice entry.
  • Unlimited documents in AceMoney Filing Cabinet.
  • No Ads (“Remove all advertisements”).

Receipts Pro does not include the Mileage plan.

What the Mileage plan adds

  • Unlimited automatic trip detection and classification. On the free plan, automatically detected trips past the 20th in a month are still recorded but shown as Locked — unlock to classify; the Mileage plan unlocks them, including trips locked before you bought it. Trips you add by hand or start yourself are never counted or locked.
  • No ads, like any paid plan.
  • The plan is bought inside AceMoney Receipts and is described in the app as unlocking automatic tracking “on every AceMoney app you use”.

Pro and Mileage are independent: you can have either or both, and either one removes the ads.

Subscribe to Receipts Pro

iOS (iPhone and iPad)

  1. Tap More, then Settings, and stay on the Account tab.
  2. Under Subscription, tap Upgrade to Pro. Tapping any locked Pro setting opens the same sheet.
  3. The subscription sheet lists the monthly and the yearly option with the store’s price. Choose one.
  4. Confirm with Apple. Pro is active straight away: the Subscription section now reads Pro Subscription Active with “Thank you for supporting AceMoney!”.

Android

The same steps; the sheet and the confirmation come from Google Play, and the purchase belongs to the Google account signed in on the phone.

Web

In the web version, Upgrade to Pro opens the AceMoney Pro dialog with a Monthly and a Yearly card. Choosing one shows “Redirecting to checkout…” and opens a checkout page in your browser. A guest is asked to create an account first (Account Required, then Create Account), so the subscription has an account to belong to. Subscriptions bought this way are managed on our website, not in the app (see below).

Buy the Mileage plan

  1. Open the Mileage tab. On the free plan the Trips tab shows a line such as 3 of 20 free automatic trips this month with Get Mileage on the right.
  2. Tap Get Mileage. Trying to classify a locked trip opens the same dialog.
  3. The Get Mileage dialog explains the plan and shows the yearly option with the store’s price. Choose it and confirm with Apple or Google.
  4. Locked trips unlock; classify them from the dropdown or with a swipe.

Restore a purchase on a new phone or after a reinstall

  1. Make sure the phone is signed in to the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with.
  2. Sign in to the same AceMoney Receipts account, so your receipts follow you.
  3. Tap More > Settings > Account > Restore Purchases (“Restore a previously purchased subscription”).
  4. You see Pro unlocked! when a Pro subscription was found, or “No active Pro entitlement found” when the store account has none.

If you own the Mileage plan only, the message still says no Pro was found; the Mileage plan itself is restored, which you can check on the Mileage tab.

Manage, change or cancel a subscription

Cancelling stops the next renewal; Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Deleting the app or your Receipts account does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in the store first, or the store keeps billing.

iOS (iPhone and iPad)

Tap More > Settings > Account > Manage Subscription (“Change plan, cancel, or view billing”); it opens the store’s subscription screen where you switch between monthly and yearly or cancel. You can also open the iPhone’s Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. The Mileage plan is managed in the same place.

Android

Tap Manage Subscription in the same place, or open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.

Web

Manage Subscription does not appear for a subscription bought from the web version’s checkout, because no store holds it. Manage or cancel it on the website’s Existing customers page with Manage my subscription, the same way as AceMoney Cloud. For a refund, open a Licensing and billing questions request on the support portal from the e-mail address you bought with. Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the period you paid for.

Refunds

Subscriptions and purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google under their own rules, not by MechCAD, which can neither issue nor see them. Ask Apple through its “report a problem” page for purchases, or Google Play through your order history. For a purchase made in the web version’s checkout, open a Licensing and billing questions request; MechCAD decides those. For anything else, open a ticket at the support portal.

Family Sharing

Contact support to ask whether Apple Family Sharing or Google Play Family Library apply to your purchase.

Common questions

Is there a free trial?

The free plan has no time limit and is the way to try the app. There is no time-limited trial of Receipts Pro or the Mileage plan and no introductory price; the store’s subscription sheet shows the full price before you confirm.

Does Receipts Pro sync my receipts between devices?

Your receipts are already in your account on every device you sign in on, on the free plan too. Filing Cabinet documents stay on the phone unless it is connected to a document in AceMoney Studio through AceMoney Cloud; see AceMoney Filing Cabinet.

I bought Pro on my iPhone. Does it work on my Android phone, and on the web?

Sign in with the same AceMoney Receipts account on the other device: the plan is attached to your account once you are signed in. If it does not show up, tap Restore Purchases on the phone you bought with, then sign in again on the other device.

Do I need Pro for pairing with AceMoney Classic or the Filing Cabinet?

No. Both are free; Pro only lifts the 5-document limit of the Filing Cabinet. Bill splitting is free too.

Do I need Receipts Pro if I have AceMoney Cloud?

No. AceMoney Cloud includes the Receipts Pro features. Sign in to AceMoney Receipts with the AceMoney account you subscribed with.

What happens when my Pro subscription ends?

Ads return and automatic cloud reading, the item list and voice stop. Your receipts, the items already written into comments and your documents stay; you cannot add a sixth document until you subscribe again.

What happens when the Mileage plan ends?

Trips you classified stay classified. New automatically detected trips count against the 20 free ones a month again.

Where do I see how many cloud scans I have left this month?

More > Settings > Capture & OCR > Automatic cloud reading shows “Used 12 of 250 scans this month”. The counter starts again each month.

Does deleting my account cancel my subscription?

No. The app cannot cancel a store subscription. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play before you delete the account.

Can I pay yearly?

Yes. Receipts Pro offers a monthly and a yearly option; the Mileage plan is yearly only.

Troubleshooting

  • “Subscription products are currently unavailable. Please try again later.” The app could not reach the store. Check the connection and that the phone is signed in to the App Store or Google Play, then try again later.
  • I paid, but the app still shows ads or Upgrade to Pro. Tap Restore Purchases. Make sure the phone uses the Apple ID or Google account you bought with, then close and reopen the app.
  • “No active Pro entitlement found”. The store account has no Pro subscription. If you bought the Mileage plan only, this is expected: check the Mileage tab. If you did buy Pro, open the store’s subscription list; if it is listed there as active, contact support with your User ID (Settings > Account > Show User ID) and the store receipt.
  • “Purchase failed:” followed by a message. The store declined or interrupted the payment. Fix the payment method in the store and try again; you were not charged for a failed purchase.
  • Restore failed. Usually a connection problem. Try again online; if it persists, sign out of the store on the phone and back in.
  • Manage Subscription is missing from Settings. It appears only for a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play on a phone. A subscription from the web version’s checkout is managed on our website (see Web above); the Mileage plan is managed in the store’s subscription list.
  • Locked trips are still locked after buying Mileage. Tap Restore Purchases, then leave and reopen the Mileage tab.
  • The web version says “Account Required”. You are signed in as a guest. Tap Create Account, register, then buy.
  • I was charged after cancelling. A cancellation stops the next renewal only. Check the store’s subscription list for the end date; disputes about a charge go to Apple or Google.
