AceMoney Receipts
Settings in AceMoney Receipts
This page is a reference of the whole Settings screen, in the order the tiles appear. Use it to find a switch quickly or to check what a tile does before you tap it.
Open Settings
Tap More in the bottom bar, then Settings. The screen has six tabs across the top; swipe the tab row to reach the ones on the right: Account · Capture & OCR · Sync · Notifications · Mileage · About. On the free plan a banner ad sits above the tabs.
Account tab
- Show User ID: opens the Your User ID dialog with a Copy button; support may ask for this value. Shown only when signed in.
- Your name or e-mail (with Signed In and Tap to sign out): tap to sign out; the Sign Out? dialog confirms. A guest sees Anonymous here and the Sign Out & Lose Data? warning instead. If you are somehow signed out, the row reads Sign In / Register.
- Link Account (“Save your data permanently”): guests only; attaches an e-mail, Google, Apple or Microsoft account so the receipts survive a sign-out or a new phone.
- Change Password: e-mail accounts only; asks for Current Password, New Password and Confirm New Password, then Update.
- Biometric Authentication (“Use FaceID/TouchID to unlock”): locks the app with your face, fingerprint or passcode whenever it goes to the background. Has no effect in the web version.
- Delete Account (red): permanently deletes the account and every receipt in it after the Delete Account? confirmation; see Sign in and your account.
Subscription section:
- Upgrade to Pro (amber button): opens the subscription sheet. Once subscribed the button is replaced by Pro Subscription Active with “Thank you for supporting AceMoney!”.
- Manage Subscription (“Change plan, cancel, or view billing”): opens the store’s subscription screen; shown only for a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play, on the phone.
- Restore Purchases (“Restore a previously purchased subscription”): re-reads your store account after a reinstall or on a new phone; answers “Pro unlocked!” or “No active Pro entitlement found”.
- Receive Receipts by Email: Receipts Pro. The tile shows your personal receipts address (tap to copy it), or “Email alias not set up yet” while it is being created; on the free plan it is locked. See E-mail receipts to your personal address.
- No Ads (“Remove all advertisements”): a check mark on any paid plan; a lock that opens the subscription sheet on the free plan.
Capture & OCR tab
- Record Geolocation (“Save location with new receipts”): off by default; when on, each new receipt records where it was scanned and shows a map. Each receipt keeps its own switch too.
- Voice Interaction (“Read back OCR results aloud”): Receipts Pro; after a scan the app speaks what it read and listens for “confirmed” or a correction. Locked on the free plan.
- Extract Item List (“List purchased items in the comment”): Receipts Pro, on by default; the items the reading service finds are written into the Comment field.
- Automatic cloud reading: shows how much of the monthly fair-use cap you have used (“Used 12 of 250 scans this month” on Pro); on the free plan it explains that automatic cloud reading is a Pro feature and opens the subscription sheet.
Sync tab
- Pair with AceMoney on Desktop: shows Status: Not Paired or Status: Paired with the AceMoney version and the host computer name. Tap to open the Pair with AceMoney dialog and get the 8-digit code for AceMoney Classic, the classic Windows program; when already paired, tapping asks Overwrite Pairing?. See Receipts pairing for AceMoney Classic.
- AceMoney Studio: with AceMoney Cloud, connect this phone to a document in AceMoney Studio so its Filing Cabinet documents and mileage drives are sent there. Sync on Wi-Fi only holds uploads until the phone is on Wi-Fi. See Sync with AceMoney Studio.
Notifications tab
- The tab reads No notification settings yet. Notifications are controlled by your phone’s settings; the one in-app notification switch, for detected drives, is on the Mileage tab.
Mileage tab
On the web version this tab only says that automatic mileage tracking is available in the phone app. On the phone, top to bottom:
- Track mileage in this app: makes AceMoney Receipts the one app on this phone that auto-tracks drives (“Only one app on this device can auto-track mileage at a time, so trips are never recorded twice”). The subtitle tells you if another app currently tracks.
- Detection: a status row whose title is the current mode: Automatic, Semi-automatic — start drives from the app, Manual or Manual — odometer & manual entry, with an action button such as Start drive, Turn on Precise Location or Add trip manually when a step is missing. A “Reduced detection” note appears when Background App Refresh is off for the app on iPhone or Android restricts the app’s background activity.
- Auto-detect trips: turns automatic detection on or off; the subtitle says what is still needed (“Will detect automatically once you allow ‘Always’ location access…”).
- Enable automatic tracking: shown until location has been granted; explains what the app does with location and opens the phone’s prompt.
- Get automatic detection: appears as soon as location is allowed “while using” (no first trip needed); Upgrade asks for “Always” so drives are detected without opening the app.
- Motion & activity access (“Improves trip-start detection accuracy”): Allow opens the motion prompt, or Open Settings if the phone needs it done there.
- Advanced > Exempt from battery optimization: Android only; Enable asks Android to stop pausing the app in the background, which helps detection on some phones.
- Battery usage: Battery saver (only very confident trips auto-record), Balanced (recommended) or High accuracy (faster detection, more battery).
- Notify me when a drive is detected: off by default; sends a notification when automatic tracking starts recording a drive.
- Units: Miles or Kilometers for display and entry; saved trips are unchanged, only the display converts.
Details of each step are on Mileage tracking.
About tab
- Help & User Guide: opens the user guide on the MechCAD website in your browser.
- Privacy Policy: opens the privacy policy.
- Ad Privacy Options (“Review or change your ad consent choice”): shown on the free plan in regions that require ad consent (the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom); reopens the consent form.
- Privacy & diagnostics: the switch Share crash & diagnostic reports, off by default; the text above it explains exactly what is and is not sent. See Privacy and security.
- Check it out!: opens the AceMoney website in your browser.
- Sort by Created Date (“Newest created first”): when off, the Home list is ordered by the date printed on the receipt; when on, by the moment you saved it.
- Language: shows English; the app is available in English only, so tapping it does nothing.
There is no version number in Settings. If support asks for your app version: on Android, open Android Settings > Apps > AceMoney Receipts and scroll to the bottom; on iPhone or iPad, open the app’s page in the App Store (an Update button there means you are not on the latest version).
Common questions
Where is dark mode?
The app has a light theme only; there is no switch for it.
Where do I set my budget amounts?
Not in Settings. Tap the gauges card at the top of the Home tab to open Detailed Budget Overview, and enter a Category, Subcategory and Budget for each of the three gauges. See Budgets and charts.
Where do I choose miles or kilometers?
Settings > Mileage > Units.
Where do I turn ads off?
Ads are removed by any paid plan. Settings > Account > No Ads opens the subscription sheet; the Mileage plan removes them too.
Why does Settings not show my plan’s renewal date?
The store holds that. Tap Manage Subscription to see it in the App Store or Google Play, or open your store account’s subscriptions directly.
Is there a notifications switch for announcements?
No. Notifications are allowed or blocked for the whole app in your phone’s settings.
Troubleshooting
- Manage Subscription is missing. It only appears for a Receipts Pro subscription bought in the app through the App Store or Google Play, on the phone. The Mileage plan is changed in your store account’s subscription list (iPhone: Settings > your name > Subscriptions; Android: Play Store > profile > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions). For a subscription bought in the web version, see Receipts Pro and the Mileage plan.
- Restore Purchases says “No active Pro entitlement found” but I bought the Mileage plan. The message checks for Pro only; your Mileage plan is restored all the same. Open the Mileage tab to confirm that locked trips are unlocked.
- Biometric Authentication is on but the app never locks. It locks the next time the app goes to the background, not immediately; phones without a passcode or biometrics skip the lock; the web version never locks.
- Ad Privacy Options is not on my About tab. It appears only where ad consent is required and only on the free plan.
- The Sync tab shows “Status: Checking…” or “Status: Error”. The app could not reach the pairing service; check your connection and reopen Settings.
- Automatic cloud reading shows “Included with Pro, up to 250 scans a month” instead of a count. The count is still loading; wait a moment or reopen the tab.
