AceMoney Receipts
Use AceMoney Receipts on the web
The web version of AceMoney Receipts runs in a desktop browser, needs no install, and shows the same receipts as the app on your phone because both use the same account. This page covers what you can do there and what stays phone-only.
Before you begin
- A desktop or laptop computer with a current browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox).
- The same account you use on your phone, or a new one. A guest identity created on the web is separate from a guest on the phone.
Open the web version
Go to receipts.acemoney.us in your browser. The Welcome page appears, exactly as on the phone.
A phone or tablet browser does not get the app. It sees one message, “AceMoney Receipts on the web is for desktop computers. On a phone or tablet, get the AceMoney Receipts app.”, with App Store and Google Play buttons.
Sign in on the web
All the phone’s options work: Sign In or Register with e-mail and password, Forgot Password?, the Google button, Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Microsoft, and Continue as Guest. E-mail registration still needs the verification e-mail. Browser password managers can fill the fields. Details are on Sign in and your account.

Add a receipt by hand
- Click Scan in the bottom bar.
- Choose Enter manually.
- Fill in Payee, Amount ($) and Category (required when there is no picture), and anything else you want, then click Save.
The receipt appears on your phone as well the next time the app opens. There is no camera on the web; scan paper receipts with the phone app and they show up here. See Review and edit a receipt for every field.
Edit, search and delete receipts
- Click a receipt to open Edit Receipt, change fields and click Save.
- Click the round search button at the right edge of the list to search payee, amount and comment; the arrow inside the search bar switches Newest First and Oldest First.
- To delete, open the receipt and use the trash icon, then confirm Delete in the Delete Receipt dialog.
Charts and budget gauges
The Charts tab and the gauges card on Home work as on the phone. Budgets are stored per device, so set them once on the web and once on the phone if you want both to show them. See Budgets and charts.
Splits on the web
The Splits tab keeps bills you split with friends and their balances, stored in this browser. Splits made on the phone do not appear here, and vice versa. See Bill splitting.
Pair with AceMoney Classic from the web
More > Settings > Sync > Pair with AceMoney on Desktop shows the same 8-digit code as the phone. Type it into AceMoney Classic within 30 seconds; a new code replaces it when the timer runs out. Receipts saved in either place then sync to the desktop. Details on Receipts pairing for AceMoney Classic.
Receipts Pro on the web
The simplest way to get Receipts Pro is in the phone app, where the store handles the purchase; the plan then applies to your account on the web too. The web version also offers Upgrade to Pro under Settings > Account, which opens a checkout page in your browser; a guest is asked to create an account first (Account Required). Subscriptions bought on the web are not shown under Manage Subscription; to change, cancel or ask for a refund, open a Licensing and billing questions request on the support portal from the e-mail address you bought with. Note that on the web there is no picture to read, so Pro’s automatic reading and voice features apply to receipts scanned on the phone. See Receipts Pro and the Mileage plan.
The sidebar
On a wide window a sidebar sits to the right of the Home tab with two tabs: Blog (recent posts from the MechCAD site, with View all posts and Open original article) and Help (the AceMoney Receipts help page on the MechCAD website, with Open in browser). Drag the divider to resize it, or use Collapse sidebar to hide it; Expand sidebar brings it back.
What is not on the web
- Mileage: the tab says automatic mileage tracking is available in the phone app only.
- AceMoney Filing Cabinet: the page says it is not available on the web.
- Camera scanning, photo import and automatic reading: receipts are typed in by hand.
- Biometric lock: the switch exists under Settings > Account but has no effect; use your computer’s own lock.
- Voice Interaction: phone only.
- Ads: the web version shows none, on any plan.
Common questions
Do I need to install anything?
No. The web version runs in the browser. Bookmark the address to come back quickly.
Are the receipts I add on the web the same as on my phone?
Yes, as long as you sign in with the same account. Each receipt you save, on either side, is in the account and shows everywhere.
Can I upload a picture of a receipt from my computer?
Not at the moment. Type the receipt in with Enter manually, or scan it with the phone app; it then appears on the web with its picture.
Can I use the web version on my tablet?
No. A tablet browser is directed to the App Store or Google Play; the app itself runs on tablets.
Does the web version work offline?
No. Receipts are stored in your account, so you need a connection to see and save them.
Troubleshooting
- I see only “AceMoney Receipts on the web is for desktop computers” on my laptop. The browser window is presenting itself as a mobile device; turn off any “request mobile site” setting or use another browser.
- My receipts from the phone are missing. You are signed in with a different account or as a web guest. Sign out (Settings > Account, tap your name) and sign in with the account you use on the phone; a web guest’s receipts are lost on sign-out, so note them first.
- My splits or budget gauges from the phone are not here. Expected: splits and gauges stay on the device they were made on.
- “Error saving receipt”. Check the connection and click Save again; the receipt is not lost from the form until you leave the page.
- The Blog tab says “Couldn’t load posts”. The site could not be reached; click Retry or check your connection.
- The sidebar is gone. It was collapsed; click Expand sidebar at the right edge, or widen the window.
