Sync between your devices

With an active AceMoney Cloud subscription, your AceMoney Studio documents stay in sync between your computers, end-to-end encrypted: a document is encrypted on your computer before it is sent, with a key we do not hold, so we store it but cannot read it.

What syncs

Your AceMoney Studio document stays in step between your computers: accounts, categories, payees and tags; transactions with their split lines, tags and attachments; scheduled transactions; investments and their stored prices for the last 400 days; exchange rates, including the ones you typed, and your base currency; budgets, including each month’s own amount; goals; and the statements you reconciled. Prices older than 400 days stay on the computer that has them. Your settings (theme, date and number format), your market-data keys, your backups and your document password stay on each computer.

When a change reaches your other computers

Changes from your other computers arrive in AceMoney Studio by themselves while it is open. The changes you make on this computer are sent when you press Sync now on the Cloud page; until you do, your other computers do not have them. Press it before you move to another computer.

Without AceMoney Cloud

AceMoney Studio and AceMoney Receipts each work fully on their own without a subscription. Studio’s document stays on the computer that holds it, and nothing crosses devices until you subscribe to AceMoney Cloud and sign in to the same account.

Common questions

How long does a change take to reach my other computer?

A change you make goes out when you press Sync now. Your other computer then receives it while AceMoney Studio is open there; how soon depends on your connection.

Does this sync AceMoney Studio’s ledger — accounts, transactions, budgets?

Yes. Your AceMoney Studio document, with its accounts, transactions and budgets, syncs between your computers; see What syncs above.

What if I am not connected to the internet?

Sync catches up the next time you are online. Nothing you already have is lost.

Is my document password synced?

No. The password stays on each computer. A computer that joins a protected document offers to protect its own copy too.

Troubleshooting

A change I made is not on my other computer. Press Sync now on the Cloud page of the computer where you made it. Then check that both computers are signed in to the same account and online.

A document is not on my other computer. Confirm AceMoney Cloud is active and you are signed in to the same account on both computers; see Subscribe to AceMoney Cloud. If both are correct, check your connection; if it still does not appear, contact support.
