AceMoney Cloud
Bank feeds
With an active AceMoney Cloud subscription, you can connect a bank account so its transactions arrive in AceMoney Studio automatically, instead of downloading and importing a statement by hand. Bank feeds through AceMoney Cloud work with banks in the United States.
Before you begin
- An active AceMoney Cloud subscription, and AceMoney Studio signed in to the same account.
- AceMoney Cloud sync turned on for the document on this computer. Your bank transactions are encrypted with your Cloud key, so sync must be set up first.
- AceMoney Studio on a computer. You connect banks from macOS, Windows or Linux.
Connect a bank account
- In AceMoney Studio, open Settings ▸ Connections.
- Under Bank feeds (AceMoney Cloud), click Connect bank.
- Your browser opens. Sign in to your bank there. This uses our bank-feed provider: your bank sign-in details go to the provider, never to us. Studio shows “Waiting for you to finish in your browser…”.
- Choose which account or accounts to connect, and finish in the browser.
Studio says “Bank connected.” The bank then appears under Connected banks, and new transactions arrive on their own. Click Sync now to fetch them at once.
Click Sync now. If a bank account is not matched yet, Studio asks you to Match your bank accounts: choose the AceMoney account, or Add new account. Not now asks again next time.
Manage a connection
Each bank under Connected banks shows its state: Connected, Needs sign-in or Error.
- Reconnect signs in to the bank again, for example when it shows Needs sign-in.
- Disconnect removes the connection. Studio asks “Disconnect” with the bank’s name and says “Transactions already in your ledger stay.”
Common questions
Do you see my online banking password?
No. You sign in to your bank in your browser, through our bank-feed provider’s own window. We never see your bank credentials.
Which banks are supported?
Banks in the United States that our bank-feed provider reaches. If yours is not listed, or you bank outside the United States, use a SimpleFIN provider under Bank feeds in the same tab, or import a statement file; see Bank feeds in AceMoney Studio.
Does this cost extra on top of AceMoney Cloud?
No. Bank feeds are included with an active AceMoney Cloud subscription.
Can I connect a bank from my phone?
No. Bank feeds are set up in AceMoney Studio on a computer.
Do bank feeds work in the Free version of AceMoney Studio?
Yes, but only into accounts you can edit. A transaction for a read-only account waits, and Studio says the account is read-only on the free version. Unlock AceMoney Studio to add it.
Troubleshooting
“To connect a bank, set up AceMoney Cloud sync on this device first — your bank transactions are sealed to your Cloud key.” Turn on cloud sync for the document on the Cloud page, then try again.
“Connected bank feeds are part of AceMoney Cloud — your account doesn’t have an active Cloud subscription.” Sign in with the account you subscribed with, or subscribe; see Subscribe to AceMoney Cloud.
“Connection cancelled — you didn’t finish in the browser.” Click Connect bank again and finish the steps in the browser window.
A bank shows Needs sign-in. Some banks ask you to sign in again from time to time. Click Reconnect and sign in.
Transactions are waiting for me to match their bank account. Match each bank account to an AceMoney account, or choose Add new account.
A transaction is missing. New transactions can take a little time to arrive after your bank posts them. Click Sync now. If one is still missing after a day, click Reconnect.
“This connection can’t receive transactions: it was set up under a different Cloud key. Disconnect it and connect the bank again.” Do exactly that: Disconnect, then Connect bank.
I disconnected my bank by mistake. Connect it again the same way. Your existing transactions are unaffected.
