What’s new in 1.0.3
New
- An Add account button in the Accounts page’s toolbar, beside New group.
- The Portfolio page filters by account: choose one or several investment accounts, and its holdings, transactions, allocation and totals follow. Studio remembers your choice for each document.
Improved
- Importing from AceMoney Classic reads accented and non-Latin letters in names using the file’s own code page. When the file doesn’t make it clear, Studio asks which one it uses and shows a preview.
- The register works better with a screen reader: every cell, including an empty one, is named after its column.
- If you type an AceMoney Classic serial number where Studio asks for its licence key, Studio tells you which key it needs. You can also paste the licence link from your purchase e-mail: Studio takes the key out of it.
- On Windows and Linux, Studio now tells you where to confirm your e-mail address after you create an account.
- Error messages now say in plain words what didn’t work and what to try, without technical details.
Fixed
- Balances after an AceMoney Classic import now match Classic. In a split transaction, a line that moves money to or from another account now changes that account the way Classic does. For a deposit, a positive line takes money out of the other account; for a withdrawal, a negative line does. Earlier versions showed it the other way round, both for imported transactions and for ones entered in Studio. Documents imported by 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 are corrected when you open them, after a backup, and Check Document lists the transactions affected.
- The split window says “Transfer from” on a deposit and “Transfer to” on a withdrawal.
- Importing a QIF file no longer records investment transactions as bank transactions. A file with only investment transactions is refused with a message. A file that also holds bank transactions imports those and says how many investment transactions it left out.
- Hide zero balances on the Accounts page now also hides a group whose accounts are all hidden, and treats a balance that shows as 0.00 as zero. Reports’ Hide zero rows now works the same way.
- An amount pasted or imported with spaces between the thousands, such as 1 234,56, is now read correctly when your number format uses spaces.
- Contact support links now write to support@mechcad.net.
Before you update
- The first time 1.0.3 opens a document that 1.0.0 or 1.0.1 imported from AceMoney Classic, it corrects that document’s split transfer lines once, after making a backup.
- In any document, an account that a split transaction moves money to or from may now show a different balance from the one 1.0.2 showed. Check it against your statement.
- If you sync between computers, update all of them. Until a computer is updated, it keeps showing transfers made through split lines the old way, so the other account’s balance can differ between your computers. Nothing is lost or changed back.
